Dorothy is the Founder and Managing Director of two South Australian businesses, Health Connexion and Connexion One. She delivers services focused on supporting the delivery of mental health, psychosocial and disability support in the community, through consultancy and direct service, including NDIS community and social support, support coordination and psychosocial recovery coaching. As the parent of a young person who is an NDIS participant, she is passionate about the impact of personal experience on achieving individual and system outcomes. With over 35 years’ experience as an Executive in the community mental health, disability and homelessness sectors, Dorothy has developed innovative service models, and led organisational transformation in a range of roles, including as CEO and Director. She has led a national business information systems team, driving business analytics, data and performance management systems. Dorothy established Mind Australia in South Australia, growing the business from a small entity to a major community mental health provider in just 7 years, increasing revenue by $12M. Influencing policy and service model design, Dorothy has been a member of many committees and boards, and has strong working partnerships across the industry. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator, and is a mentor for future female founders and leaders. Dorothy has a Masters in Management, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, Institute of Managers and Leaders (FIML) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Dorothy was a State Finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards (SA) 2010, recognising her achievement in growing and developing community managed mental health services in South Australia. She is a Business Coach with the Hen House Incubator, a Board member and Treasurer of the Hen House Coop, and a Board member of Coop Incubator and of the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Australia.
